Come and join us for a wonderfully rewarding day creating your own unique linocut Christmas cards. Print artist Sarah Weston will guide you step by step through this process to help you to print and hand finish your own set of original cards. This workshop is suitable for those who have little or no previous lino-cutting experience and as a member of a small group you will have plenty of support and guidance. Along with your set of cards, you will take away your lino block as you will be able to print with it at home over and over again.
During the day you will learn how to:
turn ideas into a design drawing
use tools safely to carve your design
use a print registration device
mix, roll and apply ink
hand burnish your image onto paper
hand finish your printed cards with additional details
Please bring an apron and an idea of a simple design or image that you would like to use. The cards will be 5" x 7" (approx. 12.5cm x 18cm).
