OUR STORY

OWNER AND FOUNDER

Carrie Dunlop is the creative force behind Meadow. Every detail of the much-loved Stockbridge café, from its characterful, colourful interiors to its considered, contemporary feel, has been shaped by her inimitable eye and studio, Carrie Dunlop Design, known for its intuitive approach to styling and a passion for sustainable spaces made with natural, recyclable materials.

Brought up in France, India and Africa, Carrie fell in love with the easy, generous vibe of life found there and longed for somewhere with the same spirit closer to home. Meadow is, in many ways, her answer: a place that feels relaxed, welcoming and a little bit elsewhere, shaped by the cultures of her childhood and her love of well-made craftsmanship.

She continues to lead her busy interiors studio alongside her work at Meadow.

ABOUT MEADOW

Every building has a story. Few have one quite like Meadow's. The Georgian townhouse known as Stockbridge House has stood proudly on the High Street for centuries, host to a thousand small moments of village life, attracting myth, legend and intrigue. From the racing-days romance of Lillie Langtry and Edward Prince of Wales to John Stokes's much-loved garage and Aladdin's cave of treasures, this address has long been part of the fabric of Stockbridge life.

When it came into the custodianship of James and Caroline Dunlop in 2021, they knew the work ahead was not just restoration but stewardship: keeping its charm, honouring its history, and giving it a new chapter as Meadow, a café, kitchen and gallery for the community to call its own.
